Jason Forbes is Bird Observer’s New Bird Sightings Editor

Marsha C. Salett

I am pleased to introduce Jason Forbes as the journal’s new Bird Sightings Editor. Jason has been birding in Massachusetts for most of his life. He began birding as a young child in Waltham after receiving a field guide as a gift and trying to figure out what the sparrows frequenting the birdfeeder were. Family vacations and weekend activities soon revolved around birds.

Jason enjoys studying the distribution of birds, both geographically and throughout the year. He has been putting that knowledge to use as an eBird Reviewer for Middlesex County for more than 10 years. He is familiar with Bird Observer, having been the Where to Go Editor from April 2015 to June 2017. He also wrote several Where to Go Birding articles for the journal. Welcome back, Jason.
