With Paul Fitzgerald as editor, Mary Todd Glaser as managing editor, Dave Larson as production editor, and Marj Rines as Bird Sightings editor, 2008 to 2012 were stable and wonderful years for Bird Observer. Ted Davis arranged for the cover photographs, Jim Berry edited the Where to Go Birding feature, Mark Lynch was in charge of book reviews, and Wayne Petersen continued as the At a Glance editor.
