This month’s At a Glance photograph is unequivocally a passerine species, but it offers an obvious identification challenge because we are unable to see the bird’s bill shape or a full-frontal view. Because of its relatively small size, slender legs, well-proportioned trim form, slightly rounded head, medium to longish tail with a conspicuous terminal notch, low-contrast wing bars, and an absence of streaking on the back or flanks, is a good candidate for a warbler.
