The At a Glance column in the April 2026 issue depicts a tiny, thin-billed bird with a broken eye ring and unmarked underparts. A look at the color photograph on the Bird Observer website indicates that the bird’s belly is a warm buffy yellowish color in contrast with a light gray upper breast. The unmarked ventral coloration along with its small size, tiny, thin bill, and presence of a broken eye ring collectively suggest that the bird could be a warbler of some sort. A final indistinct feature in the photograph is the bird’s thin, whitish wing bar, which is visible parallel to the vertical branches of the shrub where the bird is perched.
