July was hot and humid with 11 days at 90 degrees or more in Boston, topping out at 99 degrees on July 29. Many inland communities recorded temperatures in the low 100s on that date. Rain fell on 12 days in Boston totaling three inches. The most significant rainfall occurred on July 10 when flash flood warnings were issued for several communities. More than six inches of rain were recorded for Hingham, 4.56 inches for Sharon, and 3.5 inches for Hull, where many streets were flooded.
