Temperatures for most March days were above average for Boston. The high temperature was 75 degrees on March 10, and the low temperature was 12 degrees on March 2. The average temperature for Boston for the month was 41 degrees versus an historical average of 39 degrees. The total rainfall for Boston was 3.64 inches, with measurable rain occurring on 20 days. Heavy rain that resulted in localized flooding occurred from March 16 to 17 and was accompanied by winds gusting at 45 to 65 mph. The total snowfall for Boston was 1.6 inches.
